About the creator
Hi, I’m Checkerman. As a foreign resident who has lived in Japan for more than 10 years, I have often helped foreign friends look for apartments and review rental conditions. Each time, I noticed how difficult it can be to compare items such as initial costs, move-out fees, guarantor company fees, early cancellation penalties and restoration clauses when you are not used to Japanese rental terms.
Chintai Checker was created to make those “things worth checking before signing” easier to organize by yourself. It is designed not only for foreign residents, but also for people renting in Japan for the first time, or anyone helping a family member or friend review rental conditions.
To keep the service running, some pages may include advertisements. Thank you for your understanding.
What this site can help with
You can paste text from rental listing pages such as SUUMO, at home, or LIFULL HOME'S, or move-out cost estimate text, to organize points such as initial fees, special clauses, guarantor company costs, renewal fees, and move-out costs.
What this site does not do
This site does not search properties, introduce properties, provide real estate brokerage, fetch external URLs, scrape external sites, make final contract conclusions, or negotiate on your behalf.
Privacy and data handling
Pasted text and PDFs are processed only as needed to show results. PDF text extraction runs in the browser, and raw text is not included in analytics events or share text.
